argh how many times did i say it: I love my job. Well i’ll say it once more.
Got invited to the release party of the new Romantic Escape magazine after work: Champagne, finger food and tones of fun people to chat with…and of course…gooooooodies !
Combien de fois ai-je d’éjà mentionné à quel point j adore mon boulot? Et bien une fois de plus.
Hier j étais invité à l’After Work pour le lancement du nouveau magazine de voyages “Romantic Escape“: Champagne, amuse-bouche et plein de gens sympathiques …et surtout…des goodies 🙂
Friday 2nd was my last day at work. I don’t think i realized yet cause i have had so much on my mind. After 2 years at the Ambassy i cleaned up my office, said bye to m colleagues (got pretty cool presents) and that was it.
It’s tough to think that soon someone else will be at my desk, dealing with my colleagues, organizing events i organized before him…doing what i did for 2 years and probably doing it really well… how will people remember me? Will they?
(Lea, my favorite colleague)
and party one last time with your friends !
Plus, i have tones of new projects ahead of me… like… while you’re reading this i’m in a flight to San Francisco where i will meet up with älskling and his mom, then älskling and i will fly to Seattle to spend 3 weeks with our awesome friend Sash !!! SO EXCITED !
Crispin visited last week, it was AWESOME ! I had taken some days off and we enjoyed Stockholm under the sun together !
It’s always a lot of fun to play the tourist in your own city, it’s even funnier to do it with Crispin.
We were invited to Cindy and Marcus’s “Shtekare” theme bday party. So we dressed up and that’s always so much fun too.
and we baked…A LOT !!!!!! It was so cool, Crispin had so many ideas, we made so many different cupcakes and a super cool duke bday cake. I think everybody liked them !
and of course we went to Eric Saade’s concert !!!
Not to be mistaken with “En forme l0pette !” in french (shape up queer ! in english).
We did it. Aïda and i registered for this race about a month ago without really realizing what we were getting ourselves into.
I got really into it and started to train regularly. And on Wednesday we ran our race under the lovely evening sun of Stockholm.
We’re kinda super proud of ourselves now ! We did good and it felt great ! 261 out of 457 women, 59min and 28 sec, just under one hour.
Can’t wait for the next race now ! If only my gym teachers from highschool could see me now…ah ah ah.
For those who were “here” last year you might remember that for the last midsommar me and my friends had a blast being stuck on an island. This year, we decided to play it safe and didn’t use a boat. We rented a “stuga” by a lake. It was perfect ! We had so much fun !
We were 8 french people but we brought we us 2 swedes who made sure that we followed the rules of Midsommar:
dancing around the midsommar flaggstaff
and eating soooo much food, doing so many barbecue that you feel you’re going to explode.
It was awesome thank you very much.
The weather was amazing, i was in charge of the Normalmstorg stage with my great friend Romain and we had fun fun fun…we also had to deal with some line up problems and one irritated trumpet player but appart from that it truly was a success, all over the city. We even got to see the Royal Family pass by on their way to Skansen (let’s not forget it also was the Swedish National Day).
At 10pm all the volonteers joined the public at the after party. We were all exhausted after standing hours in a row in the sun but we used what little energy we had left to set the dancefloor on fire. can’t wait for next year ! Hope i’ll be around.
I have very good excuses for why i didnt post in a few days. First of all, i was too busy eating. This weekend was the food festival in Stockholm “Smaka på Stockholm“. it’s when Kungsträdgården transforms into a beehive and tones of little stands offer food from all over the world for really reasonable prices. All of this, in music of course, it’s Sweden.
Then, it was one of the first super sunny weekend so we had to pay our respects and have picnics several times a day…
I first tried the Chai Latte like 3 weeks ago at Camelia’s. You know the warm milk with this Chai sirop. It’s weird cause i usually really dont like milk. But OMG i love this thing, it s so warm and smooth…and sweet… it’s just like getting hugged by a giant teddy bear. It’s just very comforting; always makes me feel better.
today Clint was in town. Clint is a professor. Clint used to be a bar and a club owner. He is american but spend 6 months a year traveling and teaching in every country in the world. We first met Clint 4 years ago while studying at Arkansas State University, Älskling, Jean Philippe and I…
He is teaching in Finland right now, flying to Austria in a week and visiting us for the weekend… What a wonderful surprise and a wonderful trip down memory lane…
My friend and colleague Alice is organizing the Make Musik STHLM festival for the second year in a row. It is the Swedish version of the french festival Fête de la Musique created in 1982 in France and celebrated every year since then on June 21st. It has now spread in 350 cities all over the world. The idea is “celebrate music”, absolutely everyone can play, absolutely everywhere, and absolutely free !
Since it’s a pretty new concept here in Sweden it has to be a little more organized than in France. This year about 100 bands and more than 50 volonteers registered and in 6 days, on June 6th (Sweden national day btw) we will ROCK this city !
Yesterday evening was the first volonteer meeting and we helped out with the organization and the badges ! Sweet little helpers !
